Ryan Ward as Sonny Johnns

Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Ryan began acting in his late teens and has appeared in various theatre productions in Winnipeg, Toronto and throughout Canada. He studied theatre, film and music at the University of Manitoba before relocating to Toronto to concentrate on acting. He graduated with honors, receiving a BFA in Acting from Ryerson University in Toronto.

Film credits include: Sidekick, About Face, The Little Guide to Haircuts and Follicular Manipulation and Nature of Wildlife. Stage credits include: Place To Be: The Nick Drake Project, Crazy Gary's Mobile Disco, Fusion. He is probably best known for originating the role of Ash in the cult hit Evil Dead the Musical (Off-Broadway, Toronto, Montreal - Original Cast Album) for which he received a 'Best Actor' nomination - Dora Mavor Moore Awards (Canadian Tony's). He has also written, performed and toured his plays, Wurn and Nocturnal Musical throughout Canada to critical praise.

Ryan has directed two short films, which have played at festivals in Canada and the United States. Son of the Sunshine is Ryan's first feature.

Rebecca McMahon as Arielle

Rebecca McMahon is an award-winning actress from Brampton, Ontario. Since graduation from York University's acting program, she has traveled around the world as the lead in the Emmy award-winning alternate reality game "Fallen". She recently won a Gemini (Canadian Emmy) for her recurring role as Becky Jones in the rockumentary TV series "Cock'd Gunns".

Shantelle Canzanese as Meryl Johnns

Most recent film and television credits include, Urban Legends, Word on the Street, Crimes of Passion, Second City's "Next Comedy Legend", and a web series entitled, "Sam Has 7 Friends", which was nominated for an Emmy in the "Best Outstanding Broadband Series" category in 2007. Some of her previous theatre credits include, a Swing in Tony & Tina's Wedding, Monica in Sinners, Evelyn in Right Bed Wrong Husband, Marilla in Anne of Green Gables, Anita in West Side Story, and Rizzo in Grease.

JoAnn Nordstrom as Liz Johnns

JoAnn has appeared in several independent films, commercials, and television series, as well as voice-over and print work. Film credits include: The Limits, which won Best Canadian Feature at the 2008 ReelWorld International Film Festival in Toronto and Best Dramatic Feature at the 2008 Digital Video and High Definition Festival in Los Angeles as well as the critically-acclaimed feature Things To Do, an official selection of the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival and the 2006 Stockholm International Film Festival. Television credits include a recurring role on the Gemini award-winning series, "The Wilkinsons".
